John Daly's Masters Party Moves On

For nearly three decades, it was one of the most beloved and unofficial traditions of Masters week: John Daly, parked in his RV, holding court in the Hooters parking lot on Washington Road. For 28 years, this setup was the ultimate symbol of Daly's 'man of the people' brand—a colorful, accessible gathering that stood in stark contrast to the buttoned-up exclusivity of Augusta National just down the road. It was a place where fans could meet a two-time major champion, buy merchandise, and soak in a uniquely populist golf atmosphere.

But every era must come to an end. With the iconic Hooters location now demolished, a new chapter begins for the legendary fan party. This year, Daly is moving his '19th Hole' to a more modern venue: Topgolf Augusta, located about five miles from the hallowed grounds of the Masters.

Daly confirmed he will be at the new location on Thursday and Friday of the tournament from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., ensuring the tradition, while different, lives on. 'This week has always been about the fans as much as the golf,' Daly stated. 'This time we're bringing that energy to Topgolf, where people can grab a drink, take some swings and just have a good time together. I'm looking forward to kicking back, meeting some folks and keeping the party going.'

The move from a parking lot to a high-tech entertainment complex reflects the changing landscape of golf and fan engagement. While the rustic charm of the Hooters hangout is gone, the spirit of Daly's connection with his fans is set to continue, bridging a quirky piece of golf history with its modern-day evolution.
